Dr. Whitney Fosco is a clinical psychologist specializing in the assessment and treatment of ADHD across the lifespan, as well as helping children and families manage difficulties with emotional regulation (including anxiety, irritability, anger), behavioral challenges (aggression, listening, following directions, etc.), and parenting stress. Whitney believes that every parent and child are trying their best with the resources available, and she aims to equip both children and their caregivers with the additional supports and tools needed to reach their goals.
Her clinical approach is trauma-informed, highly collaborative, and tailored to each families’ specific strengths and needs. She integrates tools from behavior therapy, cognitive behavior therapy, attachment theory, child development, and systems theories to provide a comprehensive plan for meeting clients’ needs.
While her work is rooted in evidence-based practice and informed by the scientific literature, she recognizes that evidence-based practices were developed for predominantly White, middle-class children in traditional nuclear family systems and often need to be modified for historically under- served and excluded folks, including BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ families.
